Here is a brief history on Fraserview:

Located on Vancouver’s southern slope, Fraserview stretches from 41st Avenue to the North Arm of the Fraser River and from the Knight Street Bridge to Vivian Street. Due to the expansive waterfront views available, Fraserview’s landscape and zoning has continually faced redevelopment, initially from industrial to residential, and along Victoria drive, to multi-unit and multi-family constructions.

After WWII, 1100 homes were built to accommodate returning War Veterans and their families. At the request of the Fraserview Community Association, Veteran families were eventually given the option to buy the homes that they leased through the Central Mortgage & Housing Corporation.

Below is an excerpt of mortgaging information, taxation estimates, and buying terms from the booklet “Fraserview Goes Modern,” which was put forth in 1959 by the Fraserview Community Association in order to educate Fraserview dwellers of the recently-made-available ability to buy and finance their previously-leased homes.
